31 January

Gorgeous day by the coast in Sandgate. Grant and I went to Folkestone for lunch and then mooched around the shops in the afternoon. Went to see my Dad and Nan in the evening before heading back to London.

30 January

Woke up to find a really hard frost on the ground. Spent the day doing errands and went for a run in the afternoon. Spent the evening in Sandgate with Grant.

29 January

Last day at work for the week. Went out to the Young Vic and Retro Bar with Steve, Stuart, Ben and Phil in the evening.

28 January

Worked in the day and saw Grant in the evening.

27 January

Worked in the day and almost forgot to take a picture for the day. The squint has been really reduced in my eye and thought I'd get a picture of the 'good luck cat' Grant bought me for my birthday.

26 January

Worked in the day and had post-op eye check-up at Moorfields in the afternoon. Operation has worked really well and my double-vision has now all but disappeared. Captured on camera a lovely sunset on my way to Spanish in the evening. Went for a run when I got home from Imperial.

25 January

Worked in the day and saw Grant in the evening. Went for some food in Blackheath. Picture is of the Retention and Progression report, which my team has finally received in printed form after nearly four months waiting - the moment my director, Stephen, held the report needed to be captured on camera.

24 January

Woke up very late and spent the day nursing a hangover. Went to bed very early.

23 January

Went to Bluewater with Grant and watched Sherlock Holmes at the cinema. In the evening, went out with Dan and Ben to XXL at London Bridge. Picture is of a fake pig that Grant has in the tortoise pen in his garden...

22 January

Worked in the day and stayed at Grant's house in the evening. Pictures taken are of his two dogs. I've never heard dogs snore as loud as they do!

21 January

Worked in the day and did very little in the evening, except tidy the kitchen.

20 January

Worked in the day and chilled with Grant at home in the evening.

19 January

Worked in the day and had my Spanish lesson at Imperial in the evening. Felt pretty tired and almost forgot to take a picture, hence the random one of me.

18 January

Back to work today. Saw Grant briefly before he went home in the evening and then went to the Royal Vauxhall Tavern to play bingo with Dan, Jon Moles et al.

17 January

Grant, Dan and I went to the Heathcote pub in Leytonstone to watch the DVD of The Lark, which the Woodhouse Players performed in Oct / Nov 2009. In the evening we went back to Dan's and watched Grave of the Fireflies.

16 January

Went to the Fabian Society Annual Conference during the day, where Prime Minister Gordon Brown was guest speaker. In the evening went out for Paul J and Richard's birthdays. Started at the Edge and then went to Karaoke Box. Dan, Ben and I finished the night at Barcode in Vauxhall.

15 January

Worked in the day and saw Grant in the evening. He'd found a computer character which he said reminded him of me...the crazy waving was the clue.

14 January

Worked in the morning, then took my Nan to see Hairspray for her Christmas present. Dad's garden covered in thick snow. Views of Kent from the train up to London were amazing.

13 January

The snow has returned and my road and route to work were blanketed. Took some pictures of the view from my office.

12 January

Getting back into the swing of things at work. Picture is of my colleague in the Labour Market Strategy Team, Lubomira. In the evening I had my Spanish lesson at Imperial College, South Kensington.

11 January

Back to work today after the Christmas break and my operation. Picture is of the train arriving at St John's in the morning. Eye is getting better and the double vision is reducing, but still fairly acute and unable to go back swimming yet.

10 January

Went walking with ODL over Hampstead Heath, led by Niels. Started at Manor House tube station and finished with a 'few' glasses of red wine at the King William IV pub in Hampstead.

9 January

Walked over to Dan's at lunchtime and then headed to the Peckham Rye Tavern for lunch with Dan, Dave, Peter, Laura and Bailey's Paul. Went out to Ku Bar in the evening and then met up with the ODL guys in the Duke of Wellington after they had finished seeing Avenue Q.
